Daily Deviation

:iconskillzombie:
Amongst the many stars and planets of the cosmos, we look onward upon the sky as a place of both mystery and a place where we could potentially find new homes to reside. However, some of fail to notice the fact that similar to our own planet, the universe is riddled with various dangers and cataclysms of its own. Huge solar flares that could cause disastrous consequences on any planet, various black holes with gravitational pulls so powerful that not even light could escape from them and asteroids the size of small countries all could converge on any planet at any time. For every single sight of beauty that we have witnessed within the massive rolling hills of outer space, there are many dangers lurking in that would make many of us think twice before even setting sights in that direction. Untitled created by =ZwordArts, gives us his personal depiction of what potential dangers and risks are held within the thick, dark recesses that is outer space. Although this image has been depicted before by many other artists, its the sense of movement and dynamic tension that really makes this particular image stand out from all the rest and become a shining beacon out to other viewers.

From the moment I looked at this picture, my attention was grabbed. The brightness of the sun through nebulaeic clouds shining in the distance before the whole scene; bathing it in celestial light. The planets basking in the light completely oblivious to the rapidly moving volley of asteroids that are hurling in their direction. The texture and detail on the planet's surfaces give a very realistic look of an inhabitable planet complete with atmospheric conditions with water particles to give it a blue appearance as well as carrying water on its surface. One can almost image the planet hovering within the confines of its gravitational ring as slowly makes its way about the sun. The asteroids, that I have mentioned before, have a great feeling of movement that is magnified with the motion blur effect added. A simplistic effect that gives off much more personality and feeling toward the image itself that it would have without it.

Despite the well done presentation of the picture, there is still one small thing that bothers me about the picture. Some of the darker nebula clouds in the upper left area of the image don't really look so well in contrast to the rest of the image and hurt the overall composition. Try erasing some of the thicker parts of the dark clouds and it should help the picture flow much better.

Fault notwithstanding, this is still a very well done and dynamic space art piece. The overall composition still works well and the premise is still enticing. Good job =ZwordArts and congratulations on your Daily Deviation.

Looks amazing, I really love the piece, however I do feel that the asteroids detract from the scene because they make it feel too busy and out of focus. They're quite a sharp contrast from the steadiness and sharpness of the planets and gives an unsettling feeling to the piece. I would have loved to see a variation of this with the asteroids removed.

Nevertheless, cheers buddy :)

The critique on this composition, presented by =SkillZombie, pretty much compliments it in full, but I must toss my own two cents into the can and say that this image is a most impressive one. Wonderful artwork. :)

Wow... This is so beautiful! *_* All the details you put into it is just amazing. I love the motion blur you added to the objects (I'm assuming asteroids); it really adds to the overall effect of the picture. =3

A suggestion for the name would be to either name it "Catastrophe" with that nebula seemingly "exploding" near the Earth and the effect on the asteroids, or to leave it "Untitled;" as if there were no time for humans to be able to name this catastrophic event. Or at least, that's what I get from this.

Or you could name it "Blue Sky." That's really pretty, too. :3
